Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

There are two kinds of sadhus. The stoner ones get more attention. If there are 10 000 sadhus or more at a kumbh mela, and one of them lights up, he is swarmed by 20 western reporter/cameramen who anxiously await sending an accurate report back home. (Sometimes I exaggerate for effect.)

But yes that happens. I tend to think the connection is overblown, but I've never traveled to Nepal, or much in the north at all. In my personal ravels in India, not once have I smelled marijuana.

The numbers are high but as Vinayaka says not all... I don't think it is as much a problem with westerners as with certain sadhu groups. In some traditions ganja is seen as being natural and not as an intoxicant as in more mainstream yoga traditions.

When I was in India I saw marijuana all over.

There are lots of genuine yogis and I met many in Rishikesh. They wouldn't see the smoking sadhus as proper yogis...

Well, yes I am not a woman in this life, though I was in past lives and probably will be one in the next life.

Brahmamuhurtha ( 3:00 - 6:00 a.m ) is considered the most sacred time of the whole day, ideal for meditation and other spiritual practices. Including study and contemplation.

The vibrations at this time in general, is super-sattvic or highly positive . The spiritual/intellectual productivity of this period is considered even superior to that of the whole remaining day or night.

A good spiritual workout at this time ensures a sound base for the proper and efficient performance of the day's activities and duties.

If your inner body clock wakes you up at this sacred time punctually, that is a tremendous positive you can take advantage of. Probably a Divine gift really.

It is not easy for guys to wake up at this period, and I often used to go back to sleep after slamming the alarm clock at three , promising myself to get up after 10-15 minutes, which never happened.

What makes you think that my friend? Our true form is genderless so neither male or female. You are implying you will be returning to this material world, for what reason?
