Unakite?

Has anyone here worked with this stone? I was just gifted some and am curious about people's experiences with it (as I tend to be ultra-sensitive to some crystals and not always in a pleasant way).

I doubt you have to worry about unakite. It's a gentle loving heart chakra stone.
I think the only heart chakra crystal you should be a bit careful with is pink and/or watermelon tourmaline as that is really powerful and can be too much.
Unakite... years ago bought a pendant of it and wore it for a few months. I don't really have a thing for it, but at the time I needed it. Especially the green, which I feel is so unbelievable pleasant and warm, like an embrace.

Unakite is incredibly grounding and loving.It's one of the few crystals that seems to have an innate ability to heal most any negative emotional state, and it doesn't cost very much either. If you get some of it you won't regret it. What FairyCrystal said about a warm embrace is spot on.

I've read somewhere that Unakite is an ideal stone for fertility, can anyone back this up?

I've kept the unakite by my bedside for a couple of days/nights now and so far, I have had no nightmares (have been a having them every time I've gone to sleep - except for once - for the past week-and-a-half). Somehow I feel a bit different too emotionally, mentally. It's as though I am more willing to let go of the superfluous nonsense in my life - as though I now have less patience and tolerance for it. This then is freeing me up to want to move onto other more soul-nurturing, life-enhancing things and to truly have the drive and the will to do them. This is encouraging since I've been stuck in a rut (because of feeling pessimistic, depressed and apathetic) for far too long now.

I cannot yet say I feel as close a bond to this 'heart stone' as I do to rose quartz. In fact, the one time I did not have a nightmare in that past week-and-a-half, I'd fallen to sleep with a piece of rose quartz against my chest and went on to have a dream where I possessed this beautiful rose quartz crystal wand. I then awoke feeling a real kinship to the stone (I have a lot of rose quartz in my collection, but this is the piece I keep at my bedside at all times so maybe that is why I felt so 'close' to it).

I feel unakite could be of invaluable use to me since I've had a lot of emotional trauma for the past couple of years; I'm a complete 'wreck' now because of it all. (Yes, I'm in counseling, but I'm finding talking about things to be quite triggery for me.) While I've found rose quartz helpful in this regard, its powers seem limited for me here. Thus, I am pleased I was gifted the unakite because, from my understanding, it has a stronger (yet still gentle) soothing and healing effect on the emotional body.

"Fairy Crystal" - I do have a watermelon tourmaline pendant and agree with you about it being more intense; I tend to wear it only on occasion. In just my short time with it, I have found the unakite to indeed be like the 'warm embrace' you described and which "desertguy" also adheres to. I hope this effect holds and that it doesn't turn 'ugly' as my time with the stone continues. Perhaps it will even become a new 'best friend' to me as far as the crystal kingdom is concerned. I may even see fit to get my son a piece of his own - since he has his own traumas to to try and recover from.

Hello

Its a stone that I have, its not one that I carry with me. I do have a pendent of it that I wear at times. Its a gentle stone, and personally I am drawn to stronger stones when I work with them metaphysically.

Crystals are such an individual thing some call to us at times in our lives and then that connection can leave. I have so many just because its something I have in my collection. Others I acquire as they "call" to me strongly.
