Exclamation Phone rings - no voice on the other end!

Hi, everyone. Okay, this is just too funny how these things work!

I've been posting about my disappointment in not hearing from my Dad who crossed over last Halloween in various related forum topics lately.

And in the past two days now, twice the phone has rang - I answered it - and no voice on the other end. Not even a hang up dial tone that you'd get when someone realized they dialled the wrong number!

This is something that has not happened often (phone rings, no voice) to me. And now it happens twice in two days since I've been consciously wondering about contact from my Dad.

So I now say ... Hi, Dad! Howz things on the Other Side! Just had to share this - thanks for letting me share!

Just to offer another, possible cause for this (should you want to know what else it could be).

I don't know where you live but, here in UK, we can get "silent calls". These are automated business calls where the system is overloaded so don't get a recorded voice, just silence. You can get them stopped via BT.

Hi, Amy Green. I live in Canada.

So you're thinking maybe it was not my Dad? That's too bad (and that rhymes - and now my lamp has just dimmed and fluttered as I type this.)

I was hoping it was. But maybe it's wishful thinking on my part.

It was not a judgement on your situation. Please don't think that. I was just offering another possible cause for the silent calls (which doesn't apply now you say you are in Canada).

However, I see that I overlooked that you just wanted to share i.e. not to understand what else this could be.
Apologies - I didn't mean to offend you.

Hi Raven Poet, that's how my dad made contact with me too. As well as phantom knocking on the door, rapping on the windows, and footsteps when the house was otherwise empty.

So yeah... why not say "Hi Dad". Even if it's not him playing on the phone, he'll hear you wherever he is.

Weird signs, like this, and others, do sometimes happen as "messages" from the other side.
But the best one I think is when you sense them. The feeling or character of them all of a sudden, or maybe a little while after you have been sending them love or kind thoughts. Those kinds of contacts are unmistakably that person. Next time something weird happens, ask him if he can show you it's him.....

I had an experience somewhat similar back in the mid-80's....
I was of course still living at home with my parents at that time, and one of my great-uncles had just passed away.
Within a couple of days of this, our phone rang one night, and I answered it. All I heard was a huge amount of static...and a very faint, male voice through that static, saying "Nicole?" (that was my mom's name), like he thought she was the one who had answered....Now we lived in the middle of town, it was clear weather, absolutely no reason for the horrible connection that call had - the voice was so faint....then the line went dead.
I hung up, and waited a few minutes, thinking that, whoever it was, may call back...but nobody called back, and it never happened again...I always wondered if it was my great-uncle, trying to make contact....
Too bad that back then my parents still had an old rotary-dial phone...no call display... would have loved to have known if anything had registered on call display for THAT call!!

Raven Poet, I think it was a very cool experience and I am with you on your thoughts it was your Dad. Signs happen in all sorts of mysterious ways.

Spirits love laughter, joy, and that will encourage them. If my dad was to rock up on the phone or even anywhere through a medium, I could make him fall about laughing by a few simple lines that I knew made him splutter every time - but that was with his dementia, in his healed state they may not seem so funny.

Don't tell him Pike

It always worked, but as I say, whether he finds it funny on the other side, I don't know.
