My theory
Imagine a cup of water, now imagine that you are in this cup of water and that this cup of water is the universe in which you live. Within this cup of water, you can be what you want to be, take any shape, create the illusion of time, do anything you wish.. Now, imagine that you are God and can observe this cup of water from a point outside of it, do you notice something about it? The cup of water never changes, it stays the same, there's no time, no shape, it's only a cup of water, you don't see cars, trees, nothing, but the "you" from within the cup of water, can't see this, because you are within, only from outside one can notice the "truth".
This cup of water is the nothighness, it can be anything within itself, only from outside you can see that it's actually nothing.
The "outside" can be observed only when the "inside" becomes the "outside", only when the part becomes the whole, only when separation is no more.
This is my humble theory based on my direct experiences and of course, the new discoveries in science.. the things that are in the Sun, are also found in our bodies... the elements are everywhere, an unknown intelligence, some call it God, some call it consciousness, "plays" with these elements and gives them form, meaning and so on.
A tree is a tree because something or someone decided to be a tree, without this "something or someone", the tree collapses and becomes a soup of the elements that form the tree.

Imagine the cup as spirit and the water is false self.
Imagine the water full of thoughts,over thinking,false beliefs and attachments.
Pour the water out,what is left?

What about a cup of coffee! Can I imagine that instead? My imagination works better after a cup of coffee. Even better after a glass or two of beer.

Thank you for providing this cup with which to drink the wisdom you've filled it.
I like your thinking, especially when used as a metaphor comprised of "the elements of that "unknown intelligence, some call it God, some call it consciousness that "plays" with these elements and gives them form, meaning and so on....." to deliberately "Jump Timelines" in these very challenging times the world is immersed within as I write.

I love the topic - I love the way you think.
Questions - not because I disagree, but would like it to be easier to understand.
-I was with you- you are in this cup, it is the universe - you're God looking at it.
Why is that, then, nothingness... and God doesn't see the trees in the cup?
Why is that the truth of the cup from God's view that there is nothing ...
why isn't He seeing the trees and cars? LOL! I missed that part.

Hi.. At some point we become spiritually fluid, being in the "moment" and being open to change and choice. Therefore we become the liquid , not the cup...

So I am God experiencing myself from a different vantage point. An infinite being wanting to know what it is like to be a finite being viewing the infinite. Then I witness the finite me imagining that he is a glass of water.
Oh, what great being is this that tries to imagine what it is like to be me, by using the splendid tool of the imagination!
