Phones ringing dream

In my dream, I was living happily with a family that in reality, I have No Contact with. Everything was easy going, relaxing, enjoyable, and the deceased grandfather was there to.

*He's been in quite a few of my dreams recently, and he passed away 6 years ago, right in front of me. His last words were literally "*my name*, bring me a diet coke please" then slammed it, squeezed the can, and died looking at me*

In the dream at his house, there were two phones, older with cloth cords, and locked behind plexiglass boxes. These phones started ringing at the same time, with little blinking red lights flashing and the harsh classic ring.
I wanted this to stop, I wanted to open the box and hang up the phone but was unable to. I started beating on the plastic case, and the cord of the recieved exploded with wires and lining puffing out, but the other continued to ring. Everybody was happy to just ignore the phone, and Papa said that eventually it would stop. It seemed like forever, but it eventually stopped. Then the sequence concluded.
Any interpretations you could lend folks? I'm actually terrified of this family in real life, but also love them too.
A phone call is usually a big deal in a dream, but the the refusal to answer and also the incapability to answer these devices is confusing.

Also why am I dreaming of Papa 3 times this month! He's at my friend's house, he's at my house, and now I'm back at his house.
