Chakra meditation
Anyone else doing guided chakra meditation? Just started doing it a couple of days back and I feel like it's already having an effect, though it's quite subtle. I'm trying to not over-think it, but instead just trying to really inhabit my body - at first I was trying too hard to actively try to visualise the different colours, and then losing track of what the narrator was saying.
(I know, too much trying - God, it's easier said than done to really just let go!)

I do a meditation where I pull up "red" earth energy through my root chakra, and then up through the rest, one by one. I feel the energy balancing my chakras, and allow it to go out through my crown. Then I pull "blue" heavenly energy through my crown all the way down through my root, and release it into the earth.
Another good meditation CD is Jackie Havarty's journey through the chakras or balancing your chakras with Tibetan Singing Bowls with Solfeggio Harmonics which you can find here. - I recommend starting by grounding yourself at the root and working upwards!

Thanks for the suggestions
How important is posture? I'm using a YouTube video that tells you to sit in a chair, both feet on the floor, which I've been doing, but I prefer sitting cross-legged.

I think the important thing is being able to relax, don't strain anything, and make sure your back has a strong posture so over time it doesn't become bent. He may want you to plant your feet on the ground though to be more grounded between the Earth and your root chakra.

Excellent advice Yeah, physical relaxation's a big part of good meditation practice. I can see the sense in planting the feet as well, ideally would like to try it outside and barefoot.
