Just briefly going back to Nick Cave....he wrote a book called 'And the *** Saw the Angel'.
I knew him as a singer/songwriter before the book.
I read a lot. Always have. His book went into my top ten. It was weird (not surprising), disturbing (not surprising) and very unusual (not surprising).
As an aside we bumped into him in a pizza restaurant in London. He was with his young son and my and ex-hubby wandered in. Of course, we both recognised him. Hubby said hello but I lowered my face. Silly sod I am.
Anyway, getting back to music. Don't know why, but see what you think of this....

Is that Tim Buckley? Have you experienced the loveliness of This Mortal Coil's version?
If not, save this until you want something other than Tim...

I think they make their voices break in the same sort of way cause the two styles seem to go together like pb&j.
I really like Zombie and Linger too.
Also interesting hearing some of the more obscurey music that's coming out of the woodwork
Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid

When I was about 16/17, my best friend went out a guy who was really into The Birthday Party. The band scared the **** out of me too. They were seriously weird.
I have the boatman's call by Nick and the Bad Seeds
Murder Ballads by the same
Readings and Music of And the ***
and
No More Shall We Part by Nick and the Seeds
All great CDs.
All a bit more 'grown up' from Nick.
The Boatman's Call is fantastic.
OK. going to listen to Fleet Foxes now.
