Some of the NT was actually done by Scribes.... Jeremiah, Paul and possibly Peter, Isaiah stated He had his own 'Amanuensis'. There may be more but I haven't researched further....
Note.
In the New Testament, particularly the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John 'Scribes' were referred to as 'lawyers.'

I guess ..... you might not understand what I was talking about. I was talking about the texts that are used to translate the various Bibles. For the Old Testament, there is mainly one text used by translators and that is in Hebrew. The 5 or so texts used for the New Testament are written in Koine Greek.
From the sources I have read, the texts used for the New Testament were written by what they claim were scholars. I have never heard of any of them being referred to as Scribes.
I suspect the texts I am referring to, which I have mentioned some of them by name in previous posts, is what is causing the confusion. The Novum Testamentum Graece (Nestle-Aland) is one text that has been used by many translators for various Bibles. When you compare this text with the other texts use for translating: the text are almost identical. But we can not say that for the various translations produced from those texts.
