All the Scriptures in the bible are heresay and have been translated and altered to suit so many times some make very little sense. Some are Myths taken from older beliefs systems and some are allegories, some contradict, others disagree completely.

Some Buddhist claim some of their Suttas are myths, fairy tales, etc.
It took longer for Buddhist writings to be put to writing then it did the Bible.
If you look at some Buddhist translations, they are more diversified then Christian translations.
If some Christian writing are hearsay, then I guess in all fairness, Buddhist documents are also hearsay.
I do not agree with either position on this matter.

I do not think so, given that they were not literalists at that point in time, and the fact that Jesus had tested the old savior prophesy with his suicide and failed miserably to fulfill the prophesy.

No.
If you read the scriptures, you would see a partially good Jesus and an evil Yahweh.
Only those who accept that intelligible Trinity concept that Constantine forced down Christianity's will believe that they are.
Further, only one of the four gospels indicate that they are. That kind of omission would not be there if it was assumed that they were the same character or god.

True.
The only thing the, what, 3,000 Christian denominations who believe in a literal Jesus have in common is that they are breaking the first commandment by putting Jesus above Yahweh.
They are intelligent to do so, but have forgotten why they do so.
The logos or Word of god is more important than Yahweh. Knowing this, they should alter the bible but have not done so.
That would force Christianity to explain why they have been lying all of these years.

some gnostics didn't go around bashing Yahweh, eg the Valentinians. Maybe they thought that was going to lead nowhere?

No argument that there were all types of Gnostics, but with all the lies the inquisitors put into history to justify their murders, it is hard to know as a fact what was being altered.
It does not really matter to modern Gnostic Christians because we, along with society, are free thinkers enough to modernize as required to follow the best thinking.
The central message is the same though that all the gods are man made and that we should not let ourselves be subsumed by them.
Gods, as Jesus said, want to serve us. Not us serve them.
Gods have no needs or wants but we sure do.

EXCELLENT POINT
The first known commentary of the Gospels was the Commentary on the Gospel of John which was written by Heracleon, an out standing Gnostic disciple of Valentinus.
His comment on John 1:21 reads:
"(In John 1:21, “And they asked him, ‘What then? Are you Elijah?’ He said, ‘I am not.’ ‘Are you the prophet?’ And he answered, ‘No.’) John acknowledged that he was not the Christ, and neither a prophet, nor Elijah."
