Well, I'm vegetarian too, so the (original) metaphor proposed works great for me. Haha.
Never experienced lust either, so.

That doesn't necessarily disqualify you. Especially if it does not tie closely to your real life. If you feel that romance is ultimately an empty gesture, or feel that you yourself do not feel romance as acutely as lust, then you might be on the aromantic spectrum.
In the vernacular we would call you an allosexual (non-asexual, i.e., 'normal' or other-focused) grayromantic, perhaps.

I drew that cute little dragonet on DeviantArt's Muro board. It is a lot of fun to reply with pictures in a forum!

I COME INTO YOUR LODGE
Walking the long and lonely path
I have come at last
.....to the door of your lodge
Here by the threshold
I lay down my little quiver
..................filled with arrows of anger.
My blanket of hiding slides from my back,
..................falls gently around my feet
I remove my gown of sorrow
..................fold my leggings of grief
My moccasins, worn thin on my bitter path
...................slip from my weary feet
I unbind my hair, tied severely
................with the binding of resistence
And allow only this crowning flowering sheild
................to cover me
With no sense of loss, I step away from these
................my arms, companions of my journey
I come into your lodge unguarded,
................undisguised, undismayed, ready
Wrap me in your arms and blankets
.....Shield me and be my covering
..........for I come into your lodge
................in trust.and love.

But your shape had changed
We were in a different place
You had a different name

A thousand years between us
Yet our love could not die
We have a thousand years before us
And to find you, I will always try.

Thanks for sharing such a sweet little poem that rings home for many a soul

Lol. I really do admire your creativity and ability to conjure up laughter. Even though your wee poem is about lust not love, what is love without laughter

Perhaps one day you will fall in love with someone and resign all your preconceived notions, ideal and perceptions about love. You do not speak of love for it is yet to touch you and take hold of you, I watched a movie once called 500 days of Summer, you remind me of the girl in that movie

I sometimes hope for that. I've never fell in love or had anyone fall in love with me. It is something i've never experienced, only fantasized what it would be like. Woman have lust for me and i've lust for them. It never went deeper than that. At times i am unsure whether love is real or not. Perhaps i've felt it but didn't know what it was. Not the love of another person, but just pure love that isn't dependent on anyone. I'll make a mental note to check that movie out.

Ahhh, SaraTherase, how good of you to come and read and comment on this thread from top to bottom. Your comments are so gracious and positive for all. It was refreshing to reread some of the gushy love poems, the topic of the thread being about Cupid and his arrows. It's been extremely educational and entertaining to see him though so many sets of eyes. It has been such fun!
Several of us were also posting poetry about death and it seems to me that Cupid and Death have similar duties among mankind. One of Miss Hepburn's death poems said "To keep the mystery alive." That about sums it up, it seems to me. Thank you again.

The Arrow

Flight birthed from Cupids bow
I bare my chest for you
I am done now with finding love
I was moving too fast, such endeavour
Poor target is one who scurries
Never still, never patient
Wing of steel
Flight birthed from Cupids bow
I am surrendered, yet naïve
My stillness so clear an invitation
There can only be one outcome
But I did not know this; that
There would come a rain of arrows
Wings of steel
Flights birthed from Cupids bow
Does he have no mercy this archer?
Me, here, pinioned by Love
Such glorious agony, this love affair
With Life itself; this vessel overflowing,
To the overwhelming fanfare of my heart
