I carry around a small pouch with about a dozen small tumbled crystals within. However under my pillow are two big pouches each filled with crystals that my TF and I have collected over the years. There is a wide variety, but the most common that I have are variations of Quartz, and a lot of purple/violet energy stones like Amethyst(a stone that resonates with me deeply). Every dozen or so crystals and stones I receive, I make sure to include a stone for amplification, another for purifying/energizing/circulating, and a balancing stone for good measure. Each time I do this it raises their vibration quite drastically.

I've noticed that when I have amethyst nearby I slip into sleep paralysis much easier and much more often. Sometimes it causes me to have visions that are incredibly personal and spiritual in nature, sometimes I see nothing. I've never actually lucid dreamed, but honestly that's because I've never bothered to try. From what I've read about it though, it seems like once you're in sleep paralysis it's very easy to bring about lucid dreams.

My most vivid episode of sleep paralysis did involve an angel. I was feeling rather depressed and disconnected from the world, and earlier I'd meditated and prayed about it. Later on when I was in bed, my amethyst under my pillow, I saw bright light and an angel and immediately felt happier, loved, and re-connected
