11/11/11 (Nov. 11, 2011)???

Excuse my noobness, but aren't all these dates from christian calendar ? Time measurement beginning from the birth of Jesus (who was born under the gregorian i think,,,) so totally meaningless for someone who believes in Buddha for example...or Amaterasu for that matter. (i believe in Donald Duck, when does Doomsday come for me i wonder ?!)
Did anything significant took place in 1999 and i didn't notice ? (except some new age authors making big bucks selling books..)
Site visitor meters go up, income from advertisement go up, people sell books, some "spiritual groups" out there urge US citizens to pay 3000 bucks to visit a country in political unrest to take part in occult "rites of passage" probably involving use of drugs....sorry folks, this is not spirituality, only commerce and exploitation...just another religio giving people false hopes, making them believe in everything else...except themselves

Can someone please explain what will happen on 11-11-11 in terms that someone who doesn't have a degree in math or science would understand. Where are you getting this information from about ascension? Everyone seems to have their own rainbow sugar coated idea of what will happen but i want facts/evidence and explinations.

11-11-11 and Human DNA

Human DNA is triggered by digital codes, awakening genetic sequences which release information (light) into our consciousness.
