'The reason for this is that the word “Jehovah” is not actually found in the Bible. It is a medieval Latinization of the Hebrew name for God, which is written as YHWH in Hebrew script which appeared 6800 times in the Hebrew script. This name is considered to be so holy that it is never pronounced aloud by devout Jews. Instead, they use the Hebrew word “Adonai” (which means “Lord”) whenever they come across YHWH in the text of the Bible.'

I put the lyrics into Google and this came up:

Translation of Hebrew lyrics
El Shaddai (אל שׁדי) is most often translated as "God Almighty". El-Elyon na Adonai (אל עליון נא אדני) is a combination of two names for God, meaning "God Most High, please my Lord".

If the above is true, and I have no idea if it is, that "El Shaddai" = "God Almighty" that means to me that "El Shaddai" is not a name for God. It literally means God! God = God in other words. If anybody can follow what I'm saying it's kind of confusing.

Like how "Apple" = "Pomme" (French) I would not say apple's name is pomme. I would say it's another word pointing to the same fruit. Seems like "El Shaddai is just another word for God. Not the name of God which is a different thing. Maybe say it's a word for God not a name of God.

I googled when was the word "God" first used and it said:

6th century
The earliest written form of the Germanic word "god" comes from the 6th century Christian Codex Argenteus, which descends from the Old English guþ from the Proto-Germanic *Ȝuđan.

It's strange to me to imagine a world in which the word "God" did not exist. But then I guess I would just use whatever word my culture used for the Creator of everything.

The word is used sometimes but it appears that many that hear it, have no idea what it means.

I find Judaism, Christianity and Islam, which have the same historical roots, that those believers, for the most part, can not recognize let alone know the name of their God.

But then, can that not also be said of Hinduism and her derivatives?

Today, Trimurti seems to be a foreign word for most Hindus.

I find it odd, that it appears only in recent times, that the main stream religions have 'forgotten' the name of their God(s).

So are we not surprised that the emblems associated with the Lord's Evening Meal may have received the same 'fate'?

Adonai-Lord.

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible for Isaiah 42:8
8 I the Lord, this is my name: I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to graven things.

New King James Version for Isaiah 42:8
8 I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.

The Complete Jewish Bible for Isaiah 42:8
8 I am ADONAI; that is my name. I yield my glory to no one else, nor my praise to any idol.

The first usage of the name Adonai in the Bible occurs in the book of Genesis.

Genesis 15:1-2
Genesis 15:4-5
Genesis 15:8

How do you rationalize:

Isaiah 42:8 ASV

I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.

The word in question is the Hebrew word יְהוָ֖ה.
That word, in Hebrew, is pronounced something like Yahweh.

I can not get Genesis 15:1-2 to say "Adonai".
It says something like Adonai Yahweh in Hebrew.

If I did the calculations right, the English word "God" was not invented or in use or "known" until 1,900 years after Genesis was written. Internet search says "Elohim" was used instead in Genesis I and YHWH Elohim in Genesis II.
