Many many years ago I did go for a past life hypnotic regression. I was not looking to resolve any particular issues, I was simply curious.
In that session I saw three past lives. Were they genuine? I have no idea. I was not a very good hypnotic subject. Sometimes there were very clear impressions, but then my mind started to question and analyse. But it was interesting and it satisfied my curiosity.
There is certainly value in resolving any trauma in this life, whether it originates from the early years of this incarnation or from previous incarnations. And there are many accounts of people who were unable to resolve a particular issue until they went back to an experience in a previous life.
Otherwise if you want to investigate the reasons for any trauma in this life then the following books may be of value:
Robert Schwartz -
Your Soul's Plan: Discovering the Real Meaning of the Life You Planned Before You Were Born
Michael Newton -
Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives
Richard Martini -
Flipside : A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife
The suggestion is that the Soul chooses all sorts of experiences for its own learning and the learning of others, even if we as personalities might wonder why someone might deliberately choose to experience these things.
