I'd say that they like it. In Australia taking racehorses to the beach is a reasonably common training and conditioning method used by racehorse trainers.

You know the way dogs sometimes role around in the grass, well I saw a horse doing that on the beach once, he was having a whale of a time. The trainer had trouble getting him to stand up again due to so much fun being had! :-)

That is so difficult to do. I haven't tried it but you need a lot of practice to hit the targets. The gallop is an even gait compared to the other gaits so is smoother and should make it *easier* to hit the target.

Have you seen the PBS show Nova? They have an episode about horses! Like the history! I saw it and thought of you! can you get this show where you live?
