the first part about the deep currents reminds me of ~ still waters run deep

if one gets up on the right side of the bed, will their day be any better than if they get up on the wrong side of the bed ?

"Thinking, or more precisely identification with thinking,
gives rise to and maintains the ego, which, in our Western
society in particular, is out of control. It believes it
is real and tries hard to maintain its supremacy. Negative
states of mind, such as anger, resentment, fear, envy, and
jealousy, are products of the ego."

Only a kind person is able to judge another justly and to make allowances for his weaknesses. A kind eye, while recognizing defects, sees beyond them. (Anon)

“The whole purpose of religion is to facilitate love and compassion, patience, tolerance, humility, forgiveness.” (Dalai Lama)

How beautiful this quote is from Eckhart Tolle.....

Is stillness just the absence of noise and content? No, it is intelligence itself — the underlying consciousness out of which every form is born. And how could that be separate from who you are? The form that you think you are came out of that and is being sustained by it.

It is the essence of all galaxies and blades of grass; of all flowers, trees, birds, and all other forms.

A simple philosophy for life: Do your best and be kind.

All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.

On this theme, I think you might be in harmony with this quote from Mother Teresa...

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

(I am tempted to add a cheeky addition - from Oscar Wilde:
Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much)

His true words, my favorite..
CULTIVO UNA ROSA BLANCA... (Verso XXXIX)

Cultivo una rosa blanca,
En julio como en enero,
Para el amigo sincero
Que me da su mano franca.
Y para el cruel que me arranca
El corazón con que vivo,
Cardo ni oruga cultivo:
Cultivo la rosa blanca.

By Jose Marti

Translation:
I have a white rose to tend In July as in January;
I give it to the true friend
Who offers his frank hand to me.
And for the cruel one whose blows
Break the heart by which I live,
Thistle nor thorn do I give:
For him, too, I have a white rose.

This is my most favorite poem, quote, and it has inspired me many times
