If our eyes were on the sides of our heads We would not even be human, if that were the case, nor likely truly sentient as such.....we'd be just another prey species that gets eaten by something else!
It is our huge brain, tool-making hands and sophisticated binocular vision that makes us the species we are....good and bad.
We evolved as the thinking hunter. Consider that humans are literally the only species on this planet capable of "precision throwing" made possible by our brains, eyes and arm structure.

This same ability lends itself to offensive weapons like rocks, spears and bows.
Good or bad, this is who we are, But I don't see it as all bad because we can channel that to good things.
