Has anyone read "A Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren? If so I'd like your feedback. Thank you.

Nevermind, I'm half way through it and I've already drawn my own opinion. It's a very good read if you're a strong christian. If you're not you will feel preached to.

How scientific is it? Do you need any prior knowledge to get through it?

I just read, To India and Beyond: A Mystic's Journey to Love by Violeta de Bocage and it was phenomenal. It had all the things I like in a book: spiritual-mystical concepts mixed in with a good dose of suspense and romance. I don't know, spiritual fiction just makes reading so much more fun for me in comparison to school-like spiritual books. Anyway, To India and Beyond had some spiritual concepts that really pushed my mind and questioned my beliefs. The Initiate (series) by Cyril Scott also pushed my mind. I love books that push me to think beyond my comfort zones.
Other great reads:
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Book of Love by Kathleen McGowan
The Forty Rules of Love: A Novel of Rumi by Elif Shafak
Hope this helps in providing great summer reads.

Just had to correct the spelling of those two words, sorry!
The Mahabharata has always fascinated me, but there are no really good versions on the market right now -- translations such as Ganguli or Van Buitenan are too long to read and the actual story gets lost, and shorter versions seem to always have some problem or the other -- bad writing, or bland, or something. It's a pity, as it is truly a grand book, an epic, that everyone ought to read!
Books not yet mentioned that have inspired me:
The Book of Mirdad by Michael Naimy (a friend of Kahlil Gibran -- but this is far deeper than The Prophet)
In Days of Great Peace by Mouni Sadhu (about Ramana Maharshi)
