Before any of that I would like to get to know Her and I have an issue that needs to be solved so I can get a passport. Never needed 1 before so I never worried about having a birth certificate. Need that to apply for 1 in the U.S.

For having a mother that worked as a police detective and then as a Superior Court clerk she sure did enjoy the late 50's early 60's to not remember which state she gave birth in.

Namaste.

It's okay, I just need some time off, maybe not a month, but I need to think...I don't want to get married or anything, hell no! I don't even know if I want a relationship and like khalli said, we hardly know each other.

I've just spent too long alone...and now I am pretty comfortable. These things are all new to me and Jeremy is pretty much spot-on about me being shy...I also don't know how to reconcile this spiritually....need time to think...

Namaste.

The other day, my mother and I were out shopping and I left her in a charity thrift shop while I went to get some supplies.

We arrived back home and she said "while we were out, I got something for you I think you might like" and she reached into a shopping bag and pulled out...

"Autobiography Of A Yogi" AUDIOBOOK!!! on 12 Cassette Tapes read/narrated by Ben Kingsley - the actor dude who played Gandhi!

I was overjoyed and over the moon - it cost her all of $2 - BARGAIN!

I looked to see when it was recorded...1996...that was 20 years ago.

So, I said to mum 'how did you know?' (I don't tell her anything about my spiritual path, but she knows I am Hindu and doesn't care).

She said "I saw that picture of that man on the cover and thought of you"...yeah, so Swami Yogananda is working through my mother now...COOL!

I have read the book twice, during my teenage/young adult years, but haven't picked it up since because it's a huge tome and difficult for me to get through - I am a lazy reader now. lol

However, I am half way through it...in one night...six hours of it and I have just finished tape 6 at 1 hr each.

Cried when I remembered the first time Sri Yukteshwar Giri gave Shaktipat to his favourite disciple...

Credit to Ben Kingsley and his Sanskrit pronunciation - he does it perfectly! that guy is gifted beyond gifted in articulation and Swami Yogananda is gifted beyond gifted in English language, form and structure.

However, so many stories relate to me...how Swami prayed to Kali and she delivered him two kites on the wind....the meetings with all the different Swamis in India at the time - the meeting with Jagadish Chandra Bhose - the famous quantum botanist...all this going on when Tesla was doing his thing too...

The timing of all this couldn't be more perfect for me - hearing all those stories again and I know all of this is coming from a Divine influence somewhere...as I am laying in bed suffering with influenza, praying to Shiva...Yogananda...'anything out there' to rid me of the symptoms and make me feel somewhat better....

I also know that when I get over this and well enough, I should make a bee-line for the SRF again...it's been a while since I was a member....it's been a long while...

Aum Namah Shivaya

Sending you healing thoughts and energy.

I googled Swami Yogananda and what little I've read this is a special soul. I can see why you like His teachings.

Khallianen,

I would like to see your more man side tenderhearted of nature towards our lovely lady,NECROMANCER.

And Necromancer also try your best to love your next family with good temper and endurance. Life is how you treat it and the feedback is on your hand.

I think both of you know the meaning to be together. I bless both of you to have a bright future.

Namaste.

Thank you for the healing thoughts and yes, that maternal gift was very fortuitous.

I wound up in hospital last night due to chest pain and I couldn't breathe - turns out I don't have the 'flu, I have pleurisy and a stomach ulcer - the latter probably causing the former - I am a ball of gas and doing almost constant pawan muktasana right now. I have to go for an endoscope next week, but my life is in no immediate danger (or else they wouldn't have sent me home).

However, in a morphine-induced state, the spirits told me, in Hindi 'if you're celibate, then I'm a saint'...which led me to recall an old Hindi film I saw when I was a child....it is like what's happening now, in this thread, but involving a full role-reversal...so, for those who can understand Hindi - I don't think there are many on here...enjoy these - from Necro's morphine-soaked subconscious:

I made the hospital machines go haywire though...I told the doctor I was feeling dizzy...doctor said I was hyperventilating...I said 'your machine is telling me I have been taking 10 breaths per minute for the past 10 minutes and my heart rate is 56 beats a minute...hyperventilating?' She goes 'yeah, try and slow it down'....I got the machine down to 3 breaths a minute and the heart rate at 28...she was incredulous...she said 'yeah, whatever you're doing, keep doing it'. LOL

Wow, I sad to hear your hurting, pleurisy is not fun, but, glad you are not still in a hospital. Will be thinking about you when I meditate later. Going to enjoy watering the lawn and me after I post this. Got to 43c today(109F), so need to cool off now that the sun is over the ridge.

That's funny about the machines, I can't use touch screens because they go crazy. That is why my cell phone can only do calls and text and has a keypad.

That poor guy in those videos look like he was on a verge of a nervous breakdown, lol. So I do hope your not having the same issues.

There is more I would like to say, but, it can wait. Rest and get well.

Namaste. Thanks, nah I'm not going through the same frustrations as poor old Manoj there, but similar...(they get married at the end of it, of corz). LOL

Yeah, they would have kept me in hospital, but on the same night, an old lady with a stroke, a kid with a burst appendix, a car crash victim with head injuries and a drug overdose...in a small rural hospital...

The pain is still intense and they gave me a script for Panadeine Forte and this stuff called pantoprazole and some Mylanta with an anaesthetic agent which I filled and they sent me home. I made an appointment with my GP on Friday...I'll have to go and see a tummy specialist and maybe go back on Valium for a while...that will help a lot of things. LOL

Who needs it when I can go into a trance state and impress doctors? but the pain is a bit of a barrier to that at the moment...although last night after I came home, my whole spinal column was on fire...really bad...my back was cool to the touch, but a few inches out from it, there was like a storm of electrical-heat energy which lasted for about 2 hours....lathered in hot sweat...I pretended I was back inside the womb...I put it down to the drugs this time, but you never know...you never know...

When you are better I might have some questions about
"Autobiography Of A Yogi".

After a your post on the 24th when I awoke at my usual time on the 25th, I had and urge to look it up. Didn't until about 5 pm my time. Downloaded a pdf and read 12 chapters last night. Very interesting, I am liking it and I had to actually boot up my laptop so I could google words. Some of them are real tongue twisters even compared to rihan.

And something strange too that I need to meditate about 1st.
