Yes the person who has passed sometimes attends their own funeral. i saw my husband at his he wanted to see what was going on ,
he couldnt believe how many people attended his funeral,
but a funeral is a celbration of life in some circumstances like my husbands, after all their is no death just a change of worlds, from the physical to the spiritual.

It may be considered to be disrespectful by those who, perhaps, have no understanding and are constrained by their upbringing.
It isn't disrespectful, of course, if it's not meant as disrespect.

I remember you telling me that,Carron.
I think most folks would have a certain curiosity about their own demise and funeral.
Remember Ken's face on the flag?

mac: It may be considered to be disrespectful by those who, perhaps, have no understanding and are constrained by their upbringing.
Well, that would be most people on the planet, eh?
It isn't disrespectful, of course, if it's not meant as disrespect.
Kindness and compassion are always good.

Perhaps it might be most people - does that mean we must then pretend?

Pretend? How about simply accepting others as they are and respecting their feelings? I see no need to push people into seeing things as I do.

At this point perhaps we might do well to reflect that skye said: "That's excellent to hear Deepsea. Some people consider it disrespectful when we do this, funny old world hey?"in response to deepsea's earlier posting (reproduced below)

There was happy music, laughs galore etc."
I think it would be fair to say that both these members are experienced spiritual seekers .

Xan... I am well aware of how death can affect people who have lost loved ones. As my post was addressed to deepsea, I fail to see the purpose of you directing your comment towards me. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to where you assume I was acting in a disrespectful manner to deepsea, or, any other person reading this thread?
