Also, saying that "belief is not trust ....... and the more strongly you say that you believe totally, the more you are afraid of the doubt within you"
To a lot of people though, Belief is Trust ........ they trust in their maker/God/creator ....... call it what you will, and are not afraid ....... not everyone has doubt ...... they remain strong to their beliefs throughout their lives, and die contented in their faith, whatever it may have been.
Ordinary people getting on with their daily lives, and Believing without fear or doubt.
Its not a one size fits all thing PS ........ whats your truth, your personal experience, might be right for you, but it doesn't necessarily make it right for others, its for the individual to find their own path.

As I said I don't have beliefs, can't except that, are you me?, you stick to what you believe in and i'll just carry on in the flow of whatever is happening, but not clinging to anything.

I wasn't having a pop at you mate ..... just making an observation ..... its just that everytime you assert that we (who have beliefs in xyz) are deluding ourselves, that in itself is a belief system.
You may be going with the flow, and clinging to nothing, but you still post with a great deal of conviction ....... ergo ...... belief.

Belief: 1. something believed; an opinion or conviction: a belief that the earth is flat. 2. confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief. 3. confidence; faith; trust: a child's belief in his parents. 4. a religious tenet or tenets; religious creed or faith: the Christian belief.
Or is it possible that it may be psychoslices idea? A slight difference but definitive.

Hello,
I seem to see beliefs as that which one may hold true or makes sense.
To me if one does not hold something to have truth or to make sense, then one is most likely not going to believe it.
Now how one may convey or say what one finds true may be another story.
For then it seems to go up against another point of view or belief.
I feel upon having an open discussion helps to break down the barriers and misunderstandings. Thus can expand or even unite beliefs and develop possibly wider range of understanding. Shifting possibly what one thought to be true into a deeper felt or found truth.
It is a mental thing suppose in the sense it is the way one makes sense of things or finds comfort, IMO.
But, to me, it tends to change if an openness is there.

If that's the way you see what I share, then that's the way it will be for you, also I am talking about beliefs, not the person who believes, the person who believes isn't the belief that they believe in, so don't take it personal.

An important topic, should be included in school curriculums.
I feel in love with philosophy when I took my first class in college, and
wondered why no one ever discussed such things in grammar & high school, back when I was a student.
Not so much the power of belief, but examining our biliefs.
Things I pondered but never heard discussed, in my youth.
