I guess I am curious to why you hurt others? Did it make you feel good or did you do it because you were hurting yourself? I mean no disrepect and I don't believe you are a hurtful person as you have a signature line "The earth laughs in flowers" which brings a smile to my face.
Anyway, I have only best wishes for you too. Please take good care of yourself.

Maybe there are reasons which don't make sense that no one can understand, like the soldier kills a lot of men, no-one really knows why, is he bad, unholy, less loving, lacking in some spiritual sense, there to learn, meant to?
People will pretend to have fathomed these things and present their wisdom, but the soldier lives it directly and never knows why, yet deals with in it his own way only knowing there is no reason, it just happens... there's nothing else.

What you said sort of reminds me of one of my favorite songs by Sting...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmvvjEUtwgU I was Brought to My Senses from one of his best cds, Mercury Falling (I am a huge Sting fan) Anyway, there's a lyric that says "the wounds that she gave me were the wounds that would heal me", for some reason what you wrote, reminded me of that line. I had someone tell me that the things I had brought to the table that wounded them, were what ended up saving them.

I'm in the process of divorcing a very oppressive, negative man who I've been with far too many years. I finally gained the strength to get out from under his thumb and stop listening to his hateful comments, but I find that I still hear the negative comments. I find myself walking with my head down, berating myself and I honestly didn't realize just how much I do this. My closest and dearest friends say when I'm not berating myself, I'm a delight to be around. Well, I want to be this 'delight' all the time. So what can I do to stop this cycle.
Also, this is a problem that troubles me, I can feel really good for a day or two, then like clockwork, negativity falls over me, consumes me. I feel uneasy, extremely depressed, trapped, hopeless. Why does this happen, and how can I get it to stop. Maybe I'm posting this in the wrong place, if so, could you steer me to the right forum? Thank you.

Sarin...
There is this book "Taming Your Grimlin" by Rick Carson that talks about this very subject. The book has exercises to do to help you recognize your grimlin and how to take it's power away, refusing to listen to him anymore. I highly recommend it. It is very healing.

I like this. Our pain becomes our healing and our wisdom.

I've been a fan since The Police... but on the other bit I don't know, but people want happiness so if they have some problem they try to overcome it.

I liked that line too, Xan and have found it to be true as well.
Gem, I love the police. I was able to see them twice in concert. Amazing. Sting's music has inspired me moreso in his solo years. Re: Happiness. Agreed.

... he just keeps on improving... and getting handsomer too.
Here's a little clip from the Dalai Lama for the sake of day to day emotions of life.

Oh he does, Gem, on both counts! And thank you so much for the link. As soon as my boss steps away, I'm going to listen to it. I love the Dalai Lama. I have one of his books "The Art of Happiness". It's very good reading.
