Do people get what they deserve in life?

Maisy, it just may be what some people call “karma.” But in my opinion it is not only our thinking, rather it is our entire expression, which includes thoughts, words, and actions, as well as our vibration.

What we express comes back to us as our expression is but a reflection that bounces off of something and comes back to us. I have noticed this a lot in my life; we also attract certain people and things into our lives with our vibration. I feel protected by the vibration which I now have and exude.

We can transcend karma by staying quiet inside, speaking only kindness, and acting only with good intention. Nurturing a soft, loving, transcendent vibration, in my experience, also helps. But everything is already broken, as a reflection we are always living in the past. We are light and like the light coming from stars in the night sky, all we see in those stars today happened billions of years ago.

Our core is the only thing which in stillness exists in the eternal moment; the rest of it is just passing by, including our physical body. But I do understand what you have said, I too have experienced such things. As a former teacher I felt my students were treating me the way I treated my teachers when I was a student. Often children treat their parents the way they treated their parents before their children were even born.

Aww ya made me laugh Maisy! Funny tho how things like that happen to us and it reminded me of something similar.

Every piece of jewellery that I was ever given, since being a teenager, right up to present day, I have lost or it’s disappeared. My wedding rings, 2 cameo brooches, gold chains, necklaces, pearl ring, pearl necklace and two bracelets have all disappeared over the years. No idea where any of them went!

I think I’m not meant have jewellery lol

Since this is a Spiritual Forum I think it's ok to talk about this belief...like, that's
kind of what the Thread is for, right?

So I will start: I will, politely, disagree with this belief 100%.
There are maters that are far deeper than many people are aware of.
Thus, the phrase..."There is a Bigger Picture."

Is this hard for many to accept? It sure is...my sister sees everything as ''the Universe just throwing things at her''.

Deserve? I'll say...I 'deserve' every single thing that has ever happened to me. Not one thing has ever been thrown
at me for no reason or that I did not unconsciously invite right smack dab into my experience.

So what did I do? I changed my deep, Core Beliefs - what a change!!! Hallelujah!

The thing is you can take something that you think you do not deserve and turn it into something desirable, like turning lemons into lemonade. In my life I have been able to benefit from many things which I initially rejected. In my opinion just about everything is useful regardless whether we think we deserve it or not.

How does anyone know if someone or oneself deserves anything that happens?

Many would perhaps agree that on a deeper level there are no coincidences, mistakes or accidents in life. It appears to be so.

I had a connection with Edith Cavell a while back with my healing work. If we take her as an example of being a person that helped other's unconditionally then for her efforts she was killed by a firing squad for doing just that.

I think at times the word usage of ' deserves' reflects an understanding had that the good have good things happen to them and the bad has bad.

It's not really like that but the deeper picture reflects an understanding that what will be will be for a reason deserved or not.

I think you could take a survey of the general population ...they would not agree ...most of the time, imo.
Do people ''want'' to be late because of traffic.
Do people ''want'' to stand in long , long lines for anything..
Do they ''want'' to slip on the ice...see where I'm going.

I mean generally...many of us do get 90% of what we want, tho, I'd say.
I have a millionaire friend of a friend, can't sell her property...you'd think she
could get what she wants...but nope, not even her!
