The link is a very good read...I appreciate a researcher who can find and show the truth...
"The Gospels were written within a very very shorter time after the happening of the events - 40 years or so after Jesus' death (compare that to the 400 years after Alexander's death when Alex's history was written down !)
Furthermore, because the Gospels were written within ONE generation, the hostile witnesses that witnessed the same events that the disciples were preaching were also alive and they can testify against the New Testament IF THE GOSPEL WAS FALSE."

Some of the information pertaining to the religious bit is a bit generalized, but the end is the same. Theres no historical evidence, and the only evidence is in teh bible and or spread out accross other beleif systems.

Their unrelenting desire for evidence is as genuine as their intent to belittle you and build themselves up in the same process. Such intellect is for the hopeless. Best you can do is pray for them.

Interesting debate...
My question to the LightworkerAu and his supporters is this:
Lets suppose that yes, Jesus did exist. How do you conclusively prove that his beliefs and mission were the following and not something else: We were all born in original sin, Jesus came down to earth to sacrifice his life in order to appease a god angry with his creations so that said creations would be saved from eternal torment by an evil being called the devil in a place called hell. If we don't hold these beliefs we are condemned.
These beliefs are contradicted by gnostic christianity, the dead sea scrolls etc. They are also beliefs formulated by the council of nicea (a council of fallible men) after perusing thousands of documents and coming up with what they feel was a truthful bible and cosmology. After all we only have very limited documentation of those times.
Looking forward to your reply
Thanks

Thar she be,, the largest footprint in human history!!
But, but if we just concentrate on something else we can't see it and we can pretend it's not there,, in fact we can pretend it's not really a footprint at all...

Why do you need for there to have been a historical Jesus? Does the fairy tale add to your life? Does it also make you feel better to believe Hercules existed?
If you like his teachings, that's fine. There are a few good ones in there, mixed with things that are false, offensive, and bizaare.
If we're going to talk achademically, though, no, there is no evidence that Jesus existed. Even though he lived during one of the best documented eras in history.
Josepheus for example wrote extensively on that time and era, including describing many wandering preachers, and no mention of Jesus. (sorry, Medieval forgeries don't count).
And you compare the historicity of Jesus to Julius Ceasar? Of course the boy was looking at you in amazement for what a stupid question that is. There is no historical evidence of Jesus. Ceasar was a roman emperor. Numerous historials wrote about him and his name and image are recorded in all kinds of artifacts. He actually did real things for which we have archeological evidence (his conquest of Gaul and Britain).
All of your other arguments are foolish and easily refuted. People do not die for fables? Suicide bombers?

"I claim to be an historian.* My approach to Classics is historical.* And I tell you that the evidence for the life, the death, and the resurrection of Christ is better authenticated than most of the facts of ancient history . ."
