I am entirely entranced with this small piece of yours, Miss Hepburn. The message is so practicable and simple, yet beautiful, mystical, and complex. Meditation is called such because our attention to God is constantly at odds with all of the other thoughts and considerations in our lives. You say "forget" and that really is all there is to it. To yield. Recall the words of Christ who said, "not my will but Thine be done." Here it seems that he was propounding the formula of Surrender, which is the path of the Bhakti Yogis. A very wonderful path for those who are able to shine forth upon it with their all, which means forgetting body, possessions, gender, name, etc. in deference to God.

I hope that you do not mind me blathering like this in your thread, Miss Hepburn. Your poem just kinda drew the words out.

Chanting, mantras, prayers, and charities,
All are ways to You, they say.
