Why do we expect "whomever" to take an interest in us, when we only take an interest in the little creatures when it suits us?
why do we expect at all?? expectations create limitations...

Shabda, I don't agree about what you say about expectations, I put great store in the belief of them. I expect ……………. and that is what I get.

You try it.
I have better things to do with my focus.
When the flight was debarking the fly was nowhere in sight.

make me wonder if God regards us tiny, insignificant humans in the same way.
Surely He has "better things to do with His focus" than be bothered by us "pests".

Well, it depends on your definition of 'God' really, doesn't it?

God's focus is everywhere all at one time. We don't have the awareness to sustain that.

But sure if you want to force yourself to be interested in a fly for the rest of your life go ahead. Just don't be surprised if you end up with a mental breakdown when you find you're taking an interest in too many things that you are not allowing yourself to 'let go' because it's 'bad'.

Scarlett,
It would indeed depend on one's definition of God.
I am not suggesting that we focus all of our attention on a fly. I am instead suggesting that we do what we can to help.
Too many of us are only "aware" of ourselves.

I think Miss H helped just by placing her attention on the fly for that brief moment in time.

How so?
Surely to help would be to free the fly from the aeroplane?

You guys are funny!!!
It's a story about how we are all connected!
And if you point your thoughts, words, attention, whatever,
it does or can influence things...or is actually felt by another.

If I said I focused on one plant, not others and it grew more...
for a week...that would be an 'interesting' story, too.

Would I be questioned for that, also?....Well, why didn't Miss
Hepburn concentrate longer? Why did she think the plant
needed her thoughts? Does God think of us as needing His thoughts?
Why didn't she concentrate on the other plants and help them grow?
Does Miss Hepburn think she is better than the Sun or something?

You guys!!!

I am not going to tell the story of wishing a friend would give me
a lick of his rainbow ice cream cone now...so there.
