There are "other places" you can go that are of experience, but not necessarily of our five-sense type. OBE, as a term, includes those places.
So I use OBE instead of astral projection.

Thanks Lora and everyone on this thread. I guess I'll use the term OBE too.

Further to my previous comment - that OBE, lucid dreaming and astral projection are one and the same - I now wonder.
Last night I planned another AP. When that tingling feeling came I couldn't remember what to do to separate, and just tried to will myself instead. I remember being in my hallway (not how I got there) and doing a deepening technique of sticking my finger through my hand; I even held it up so I can see it side on. That didn't increase my senses so I dived head first into the floor but that didn't do anything either.
Last time I remember every step I took from my bed and down the hallway to my son's bedroom. This time I was just there.
This time I sensed I was doing all of this in a dream (lucid?) because, even though I was aware of what I was doing, I didn't actually 'feel' I was physically doing it. Does that makes sense?
Maybe a lucid dream is where we can make things happen the way we want them to, whereas an AP or OBE is where we're actually there and doing the things that happen.
Any thoughts?

I have had the experience of "just being there"--and it only came after struggling around, trying to "get out" in various ways, sticking my hand through doors, etc. But what, I think, just got me where I wanted to be was first asking for more clarity, energy--repeatedly until I saw clearly, thought clearly and then ...I was just there. But I had awareness, so, if I had wanted to, I could have walked using a body-like energy, I think.
I considered this an OBE. I think the terms you mention are all part of the continuum of consciousness travel. How we label them doesn't really matter.
One might do the same thing I described in a lucid dream, astral projection--or many other terms that people use. I don't think it's all that useful to quibble over the terminology. Each experience (and experiencer) is different. It is what it is.

I agree. I guess it doesn't really matter what we call it. The main thing, and the best thing, is to just get out there and do it, and enjoy it. ![Very Happy](http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
