The proverbial ghost in the machine scenario. There but in a semi detached state.
Having a wonderful time getting to know it and heal and take care of it.

Ghost in the machine refers to a soul being inside machines.
There is the classic anime, Ghost in the Machine movies and series exploring that concept.
Also it's referred to in the recent movie I, Robot.
The creator of the robots was speaking of robots one day having dreams.
That AI could evolve on it's own to become a self aware consciousness.
~smiles~ However, I was not using 'ghost in the machine' like in those examples.
I just like the phrase.
Ghost in the machine in my life refers to my many years of being aware of the "machine" known as AC but I had little or no control over it.
So I was like a ghost in this world.
I, for reasons far and wide, was unable to, well it appeared to me, that I was unable to interact with reality like others around me.
This physical realm was confusing and if something happened to me, I could do nothing about it.
I could feel the pleasure or pain of those incidents but I was unable to see the connection between what was happening to me and the decisions and actions I was choosing each day that created those experience.
This lack of control was not 100%, but it was huge enough to cause me all manner of trouble.
Which is basically what one calls being unconscious, or asleep.
I had a level of awareness but there was a huge disconnection between my inner self and my physical self.
Hence the ghost reference. A ghost can move in the physical realm but has little or no control of the physical, cannot manipulate it, compared to a corporal entity.

A lot of people, the puritans, bagged the movie for not being anything like the book.
If I like an adaption, I like it and I don't care if it's the same as the source material.
I quite like most of Will Smith's work.
Bridgit Moynahan was also excellent, as were the whole cast.
James Cromwell always delivers.
And Alan Tudyk playing Sonny was well done.
And of course the director of The Crow, so the atmosphere, visuals etc of I, Robot were going to be well taken care of.
Just the right blend of humor and foreboding.
The only thing I didn't like are those two 360 degree visual shots.
For me they simply didn't match the rest of the movie.

This is roughly my view as well. I don't bifurcate human nature. Both the physical and the spiritual are aspects of what we are.

Hey Saggi and Eudaimonist ,
I am so pleased to read that there are other who understand what I am seeing as well. Everyone who has posted here have made me smile as they have shared their views.
I found it a little weird for me to try and think that my mind or body is holding me back spiritually, that I am to abandon all attachment to such, it just creates a fog in my mind, I don't think I could ever experience life or Spirit in this way...for me there is not one without the other.
