I'm feeling especially (and unusually) peaceful today and I will be giving a homeless person the benefit of this....
To explain, today I managed to find some wooden planks (from derelict wasteland) to even further reinforce my back garden boundary. (I have had countless garden break-ins with vandalism over the years; I know who it is and nothing stops her - not reasoning, nor reporting her). Nailing them up gave me enormous relief and felt healing. That's why I'm peaceful today ...
To explain about the homeless person - it's someone in particular that I've been kind to/generous (over the years) but felt she'd taken advantage of this, e.g. asking for more and more "essentials". First it was a birthday cake (for her daughter), another time some shampoo. Can't say I blame her for trying but, in our last contact, I refused to buy her a large tin of baby milk (over £7). It's not that she asked for the money, I went to the shop with her but didn't realise it would cost so much. Felt a bit bad about it - being baby's milk but also that she was pushing her luck and surely selling the Big Issue would afford her enough money for this? (She said she wasn't selling many copies).
Anyway, today I'm all heart, when I leave the library (where I'm typing this) I'll surprise by giving her £10! (It's a week when I have surplus cash). I'm just hoping she won't always expect this .... so peace to her today too!!!

Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace- Albert Schweitzer
Peace to everyone - and everything.
