You are right...... the invitation but not everybody will accept the invite.

This goes hand in hand as to why God allows bad things to happen but it is his plan, in his due time, to let people decide who they will follow and put an end to all of the bad things.

So which 'Version' do you personally believe John ?

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16, New World Translation.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16, King James Version.

I'll go with James's

I'll go with James's

I will have two to go...

The key for me is, God loved the world, and his son demonstrated this Love, so I will follow him, merrily, merrily, love is not a dream.

What do I need to do to follow Jesus, drink wine? I like red wine, it warms my heart, in moderation, of course, it is good for my kidneys. Nobody loves a drunk!
War, man these are strange days... sipping on a glass right now because I need it.
And love can be misguided, it has degrees.... starts with ourselves, and then we offer it to others because we have it, and then it can become universal and unconditional.. God's love.

What does God say about unconditional love?
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

What kind of love is God's love?

Agape
Agape (Pronounced: Uh-GAH-pay) is the highest of the four types of love in the Bible. This term defines God's immeasurable, incomparable love for humankind. It is the divine love that comes from God. Agape love is perfect, unconditional, sacrificial, and pure.

In some translation it says...does not keep records ...or doesn't keep track of wrongs...or something, too.
So I was driving today when suddenly ...it hit me...OMG...
Since, God is Love.
This list is exactly what God is like.
(What I mean re: this nonsense that He is punishing. No!)
I speak from my personal exp. of Him, up close and personal...not from some concept I was taught.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Of course....... the King James.... so I can continue doing whatever I am doing that is 'wrong'.
Now.... if I was exercising faith in him (Jesus), then I might have to mend my ways. but then, a few "Hail Marys" is probably all I would have to do.

I will enter the threshing floor...
And the shaft will be removed from the wheat.
Praying God will find me nutritious..
Heaven is hungry for good things to eat.

One can live on potatoes, but why eat potatoes.
Saying the rosary could be very nutritious, delectable, and sweet... Only God knows why as I rest at his sacred feet.
But hey, God loves you too...Big John. Why throw away good potatoes.

....... but that was not always the case. In history, most of the people never ate potatoes..... a Native American food.

But then, things got stirred up and now I would say most people feast on Native American food in one way or another. Can you imagine a World without tomatoes, potatoes and hot peppers?

Maybe....... most of the World had past life connections as Native Americans and that is why they like that food. Who knows?

Did you eat all of your potato chips?
