The science of blood typing was unknown when the bible was written. How can the bible condemn something the authors knew nothing about? Lives are saved with blood transfusions.

When I was a boy, a famous General lived nearby during the American Revolution. It was his job to get the Continental Army in shape and included telling them they could no longer eat 'road kill'. Back then, I doubt 'road kill' existed but I got a feeling you could find aged and diseased animals laying around dead or floating in the waters.

Back in biblical times, it was simply wisdom not to eat blood that had been sacrificed or been in a dead animal. Blood of a dead animal goes bad, pretty much as soon as the heart stops beating. Any hunter knows that bleeding the carcass is first priority - beside the blood going bad quick, it also poisons the meat. In a modern slaughter house, or hospital for that matter, the blood can be collected, cleansed and frozen for later use. By contrast, some nomadic tribes still drink blood from certain livestock if they are in dire circumstances - but they drink it straight from the living (or dying) animal.

So, I say the biblical phrase was and IS correct. Don't consume untreated blood from a long dead animal. It's just medically unsound.

The NT teaches--abstain from blood--Not a single mortal can prove it doesn't include transfusions. The only bible evidence= God clearly shows he does not want mortals putting blood into their bodies by consuming it. So one must ask, Would God want a mortal to put blood in their bodies in any way, i say the answer is NO.

Acts 15:20, forbids "eating or drinking blood" However this verse does not apply to Blood Transfusions which is a medical procedure which can save lives and has nothing to do with 'Eating or Drinking' Imo..

One can see it your way. Or one can know God does not want one to put blood into their bodies.-Lev 17:14= For the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood.

Leviticus 17:14
New International Version
14 because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, “You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.”

Note - You must not 'EAT'... You don't 'Eat' a Blood Transfusion.

I don't know but it's an interesting topic. It's said people can develop sudden new talents, interests or personality traits when they receive an organ from somebody else. It's not a stretch of the imagination that blood from somebody else may change you as well, possibly in a much smaller way and not final like with an organ. Who knows?
