I prefer cremation. It seems less hassle than having a coffin and all that faffing about.

I think that I would choose cremation, it gives you the option for your ashes to be spread under a tree or any other favourite place
There is another form of buriel which is becoming quite popular
and that is Natural or Eco buriels, where a body is buried in a woodlands park
A native tree is planted at the foot or head of the grave and the body recycled into a mighty tree

Personally, I'm leaning heavily towards either cremation or some kind of inexpensive "Green" burial where my body can decompose as naturally as possible without the use of embalming and an expensive casket...
Ideally, I'd want my burial or cremation to be as cheap as possible...I have no desire to invest in $7,000+ in a traditional funeral service...I'd much rather return to the Earth as naturally as possible, or if I choose cremation have my ashes scattered or planted, and use the money saved towards something I can actually enjoy while I'm still alive...
:)
*EDIT*
Also, I agree with the points all the others made in this thread...Once your physical body dies, the spirit/soul would not need ties to the physical body anymore, so I don't see any logical reason why cremation would prevent one's soul from crossing over...So spiritually, I don't believe it's a bad idea for one to consider cremation...There are also a lot of financial and environmental benefits to cremation and/or "Green" burials in comparison to a traditional funeral service which would be worth investigating...

When some of my pets have died I have planted a tree near their grave,it is nice to look at and comforting to know the body of my pet has become part of a living tree

I heard once that the spirit is still attached to the physical body after it dies - for 3 days if I am not mistaken - so if you are cremated right after your death your spirit is going to feel the pain and agony.
I personally never thought about it, but it might be true?
So there is nothing wrong with cremation, at all, but we might need to wait a couple of days until get it done...?

You almost convinced me and would of if I hadnt been astrally with my aunt when she died to see what occurred.
I can say she actually passed completely over almost immediately (it may be different for other cases, she was ready to go and it was expected and probably looked forward to by her, she'd suffered from leukemia for a long time). Whereever she then astrally went to was awesome, the energy was so nice it strongly drew one to it. She disappeared when she walked into this patch of golden light energy..vortex/doorway or whatever one wants to call it but I wasnt allowed to follow.
She was really gone from our astral plane so to burn her body then wouldnt have mattered none.
....
I was watching this thing on youtube a while ago. There is some country or culture in which they redig their deceased family up once a year and have a party with the corpses. (It showed it on youtube). They believe that doing this to your family is a sign of showing respect.

I am definitely going to be cremated, less hassle and my ashes can be just scattered in the wind.

Dear shakeithbaker
Cremation is not my first choice, I'm an organ donor!
If you care about your body, let's put things in place, our the body was given to us by our parents, our soul our spirit was created by God. Our body, like an old clothes rots. Our spirit is immortal because God created it with a purpose that was certainly not live only one life!
The only risk of cremation is how attached you are to your body! If not caught you not felt anything because it is already off, otherwise you may feel the whole process. Exactly the same thing can happen when your body is buried, or feel all the rotting process.
You can check more details on questions 320 till 329 regarding this subject from below book:

Good reading!

Don't worry about time... It usually takes a week to get everything finalised... Anyway, there is no way energy can be destroyed... It can only be dispersed with hard work and at that, it still goes back into the energy bank...
