So I went ahead and googled vanity, and the definition seems to fit Ecclesiastes just fine. So my googling was not in vain, but I am still rather enthralled by what this message of Ecclesiastes may be. I have a hard time believing it is actually that life is in vain....but then maybe I just don't want to believe that, either one I suppose.

Now trying to get a fair shake with Mom when Sis starts trouble. That is effort spent in vain!

If anyone writes that you do not want to ...they can be placed on Ignore.
All others are able to say 'private' things you would not want the entire forum to see.

Ex: "Ketzer, if you don't knock off 'blank' I'm going to strangle you."
See? Or,
"Ketzer, one more time swearing and you'll be suspended."
PMs are appropriate for many private things.
And when I actually growl at you ---you'll know it.

That is EXACTLY the statue of Shiva Natarajan that I have in my bedroom.
