sorry been busy with work this week!

* Steampunk
Trying to establish timelines:
BC? 8 of Wands
AD: The Sun

These are technically both positive cards but what's being suggested to me here is more of the transition point between the two, eg somewhere in like, 10BC to 10AD?

This seems incredulous, but I'm going to wildly guess Jesus as he's the only majorly significant figure I can think of around that time that would correlate with 'regeneration machine'

Not Jesus. Also time is not so close to AD.
I will be off for a week soon, but I am hopeful someone will have guessed today or tomorrow.

I asked my cards to tell me more about the figure you have in mind
All I know is male, dead, and somewhere in BC era

* Steampunk

Devil reversed - this is usually a 'liberation' card which suggests that this figure did a lot of work in social change, ie established guidelines or accomplished things that made a big different to the quality of other people's lives. Technically this could also indicate scientific/engineering change, eg if he constructed a certain dam that really helped with farming etc.

9 of Swords - I'm seeing a lot of anxiety here, a lot of worry. This person may have struggled with anxiety or mental issues, or literally was worried a lot about swords at his back (eg risk of murder).

2 of Cups - relationships that don't work out, or contracts that are reneged on. Hmm, doesn't sound like this person was living in a particularly peaceful time..

No name guesses so far, but feedback on my guesses?

What I marked as bold, makes perfect sense.

As for the rest... looked up again.
Anxiety, worry, mental issues? More like as a young man he possibly went through a phase where he was unhappy and nothing could make him happy.
There were relationships that didn't work out (from what I have looked up), but that's nothing I would take as hint.
His time, hm... I don't know much here, but in every time and place there have been issues.

I as sure you will have the name soon.
Should no one guess right until tomorrow evening, I will give such massive hints that I could as well type the name.

Haha I need more of a timeline or country to narrow my guesses

* Steampunk

Europe - Judgement
Asia - 4 of Cups (definitely not)
Middle East - Knight of Swords (maybe)
Africa - Queen of Swords (this feels strong, but who do I know from here?!?!)
The Americas - The Magician (this feels strongest)

amirite?

No, not right at all. Quite the contrary.

Yep. And now you should have his name. Because... how many well-known people are there from the BC era in Asia?

oh wow this could only be Qin Shi Huang, first Emperor of China

if it is, he definitely had lots of paranoia - he killed all the workers who built his tomb (Terracotta army!) so no-one could find their way in. He also killed a lot of the philosophers and burned their texts so that there could be no recorded argument or disagreement with his doctorines. He had many assassination attempts.

I believe there was also a lot of tribal warfare towards the beginning of his reign...

No, not the first Emperor of China. Someone much different and much more well-known. Not from China.
