Oh gosh yes, and I can still remember everyone's landline numbers from years and years ago from memory, but for the life of me I cannot memorize a single mobile number , not even my own

PS . Fuses. Today home wiring uses circuit breakers . Before it was Fuses.
I can clearly remember ladies having to take one of their stockings or tights off so their husband could fix a fan belt LOL...

LOL....Sooooo funny !!!
No, do t know what the dangly bits are called either but I'll tell you what I'd call the ones at the back ..... "Impossible". You have to be a contortionist to fasten them.
Life's too blinking short.
Praise the Lord for "hold ups" hahaha....

The old cars used several belts to power stuff. Today they use a single serpentine belt. I don't think stockings and neckties would work as a replacement.

Remember when you had phone booths outside, and you had to have enough coins on you to make a phone call..

Yep the phone booths hey! ………..press A………..press B…….. lol

I still remember our phone number was “Aintree 2490”. Funny how we remember these little things fifty years later and I can’t remember what I did last week!

I recall a comedian saying that when he mentioned stuff that was well before the audience members were born they would nod along as if they remembered it---one thing he mentioned was tin baths hung on the back of doors, he reckons no one alive today should remember these as they were about hundred years or more ago, well I am not sixty yet and we used to play in some abandoned homes at the bottom of our street and that's what was in one of them an old tin bath hung up on the back of the door, other things I remember from those homes were clothes mangles and washboards (could do with them now!)
