Perhaps in my current understanding of Buddhism concept , " the joy" or " bliss" you experience is a condition of being " less self" ......is not joy as in knowledge .
In my current understanding of Buddhism , as we progress into greater realization , all our emotions ( ourselves) will naturally decreased ...and as we progress further , perhaps we will realize we are all same as others existence , same as the dirt , the rock , the tree or the virus......we will realize and accept nothing belong to us nor family or even own body ...that condition of less burden of self perhaps can be easily descriped as " joy" , "free" ........is a condition of freedom , less burden ........

but now as a human still full of pollutants , understanding Buddhism is easy part but realizing it or even accepting it is still a great challenge ......I still have so much love for my daughter and thats suffering .

Well yea, but what's the rush. Its not like were not all one and running the 50 yard dash. From my perspective we seem to want what we don't have. In oneness we strive for seperation. In separation we strive for oneness. Who cares! Its all good in my book. Its just a circle in my world. But I'm a little weird. Lol

Yeah, I agree! The only thing I see different here is its a circle we travel in. All being equal. Just different experiences. Or perhaps you do. I don't know?

On the defense of Buddhism as csee described. I had a dream that showed me all things keep us from the bliss. I went from seeing and hearing. To only hearing. To only darkness. In only darkness was the most bliss. There was no space for anything else. I took it as a circle my soul travels in. As it brought me back down one step at a time. Down to my current state at the time.

It was an interesting dream.

I have been to numerous religious sites, and in general they are all pretty exclusive.

Christians have their evangelicals, Islamists have their Jihadists, Hindus have their Vaishnavas. Buddhists too have their zealots, but because Buddhism is non-proselytizing, it is of a different tone than the others.

My point isn't that all religion is bad, but that every religion has it's zealous adherents who try to use religion as power over others, rather than power over themselves.

Cool dream Running.

Well, your dream is what countless people have worked very hard practicing meditation for years to achieve, all too often without success.

Luck? I don't know.
