How much is actualy in the bible to support the concept of "original Sin" and what are the specific passages that that do?

I don't believe in original sin. I think it means that Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and so we all inherit her sin because of it. But I believe we're born with a clean slate. I don't even believe we are born with karma from previous lives.

I like the being born with a clean slate idea. I don't believe in the karma idea from previous lives , too much extra baggage.

There is no need to belief or disbelief karma or the karmic system.
All we have to do is, work through the issues as they come up.
There is no extra baggage, only the one we create.
Regards
PS.: to the original question, original "sin" fits well with the karmic system. Just looking around the globe, there are obviously layers of energy that go back thousands of years, and still not resolved. We can argue back and forth about the existence of one or the other, it will not move solidified layers of energy.

Well I definitely think that we are all affected by the mistakes of our ancestors. Certainly Eve's sin has had repercussions that have affected today's world. But that is totally different than believing that God holds everyone born after Eve accountable for her mistakes. First of all Eve wasn't the first woman (that is part of the error.) Humans were around long before Adam and Eve came on the scene.

The story about Adam and Eve is a metaphor.
We could try to interpret this metaphor?

The story of the tree of knowledge was a metaphor. Adam and Eve were quite real.

At what point do metaphors become real?
In texts of the Sumerians, an almost identical story, myth was found. Only those texts are many thousand years older.
I will not take this any further, after all this is a Christian sections and Christians can belief what ever they want to, with as little disturbance as possible.
