I think that for most people, they need more than their family, at some point in life. But for others, maybe family would be all they need their whole lives. In my opinion, it's possible. When I grew up, neither my family nor the world could give me what I needed, but if my family had been different then they could have given me all I needed, I think. Much of what I got in the world, school, even from friends, was not very healthy, and led me to great confusion and pain that could have much better been avoided, if I had been warned and taught about such things.

Now, I am happy with having only one or two other people in my life who I interact with in any real meaningful way. I think it could have been that way, all along, with my family if they'd been the kind of people who got me and all I need, from the start. Of course, we all need to be able to find others to relate to, in case we lose the ones we're close to, since you never know what the future holds. Though I've heard of people who aren't close to anyone, yet are still happy. I don't think I could handle that, at this point in my life, though, if ever.
