Yes, but people in relationships get treated in the way they
allow other people to treat them.
In that lies the culpability for your present situation.
It is not for you to check him when he does behave badly, it is for
her to do that. She teaches him the limits of what she will accept. She must set the boundaries and he will either respect them or lose her. The choice is simple.
For you the horse has bolted and it will be difficult to get it back, she still has time to close the stable door.
Demand respect or face the consequences.
