Yes! My daughter takes Melatonin. Natural and 5 mg. Also, I was told, no TV or electronics 2 hours before bed. No lights in the room at all (this tells the pineal gland not to produce seratonin). You can get Melatonin for about 10.00 at CVS pharmacy. Everyone here takes it (my 10 year old was prescribed it over the counter). It helps greatly!!

I use candles and lights out.
Seratonin is to me excercise.
Also there are DVD's out there of yoga postures to help you sleep better.
It sounds like you have a lot of chatter in your mind.
I take 5htp to help increase my seratonin levels. Also if it's sunny out there go and get that Vitamin D it will help both melatonin (so long as the lights are off when the sun naturally set) and seratonin.
Spiritlite.
PS Brown rice has tryptophan in it and helps me sleep very well.
