James Van Praagh

I haven't read any of his books. I've seen and heard him on television. He seems to be open to the realm and religion. I've always identified with the combo.

My question is if his work is suitable for conservative Baptists? Is it just about positive thinking when he speaks about soul manifestations or too much occult like for serious by the book old-school Bible people?

Hi Birds,

I recently read one of his books and really enjoyed it, so I can suggest it - but with the caveat that the individual may likely need to be somewhat open-minded. As I mentioned, I've only read one of his books, and they likely may differ in content according to the focus.

I grew up in a baptist community, and so I have an inkling regarding your trepidation and why you're asking. Personally, I don't think many baptists I know would feel comfortable taking all that he says in. But, I would suggest you pick a book of his to read and then make the judgement call. At the very least, you can enjoy it. :)

Best wishes

thanks

Thanks, I personally enjoy reading/hearing various points of view.
Elderly sisters I know like to gift each other with religious books and they're more old school.
I appreciate your comments.
