My First Crystals and Cleansing Questions
So I bought some pointed quartz crystals! I thought quartz was a good place to start with my crystal family. Its going to take a while for them to come in the mail though :(
But anyway, Do I need to cleanse them when I get them? And if so I heard that placing them in a body of water for a while is a good way to do it.
I have a rain water stream in my backyard and I was wondering if that would be okay. I could always just put them in a jar of salt water, but I feel like it would do better out in nature.
Thanks :)

Yes, I would definitely cleanse them after receiving..The miners, the shippers, the mailman..etc might have carried negative energies. Try to let your intuition tell you how to cleanse them ; usually it's the intention that matters.
Also, I recommend charging them.
After cleansing, it's good to replenish the energy. Sunlight and moonlight are excellent, although some types of quartz, like smokey, amethyst, citrine..etc might fade in sunlight.

It's always a good idea to cleanse new crystals. Natural water is a great way to do it but in case you ever can't cold water from a faucet is a good alternative. Remember not all crystals are water friendly though quartz are. There's many other ways that you can cleanse them so it's a good idea to try and see which ones work best for you.

It's good to at least rinse them off. Some don't need more than that, others do. Depends, you will have to feel whether or not they need much. Most of the crystals I get in, don't need much at all, sometimes not even a rinse, even though I do that.
Natural water is great, as it has little chalk, it's soft water and has fewer chemicals than tap-water. Steer clear from using salt. That can damage some crystals.
