I really love the teachings of Robina Courtin. Her teachings links are on her website. After discovering the Buddhist path and ordaining as a nun in 1978 – she celebrated 35 years as a nun on February 9, 2013 – Ven. Robina has worked full time for her heart lamas, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and their Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition.

I have also read most of the books written by Pema Chodron.http://www.shambhala.org/teachers/pema/

When I frist started I read "The Joy of Living"

This may sound silly, but there is a lot of good information there. "Buddhism for Dummys" Just gives you the facts and a bit of practice information.

I liked the movie 'Little Buddha', starring Keanu Reeves.

I guess Keanu is a good spiritual influence, really.
