Images and sounds while meditating
Hi everyone.
I have been meditating here and there for a few months. over the course of the last 2 weeks I've made an effort to make it a daily ritual.
It works for relaxing and I always feel energized afterwards.
However I started experiencing being able to hear the voice in my head at a audible level and recently I've been catching certain images. The clearest of which was what looked like a man in a blue morph suit flying into my line of vision.
Every time something like this happens I get startled out of my meditation. At one point my dog began to growl when the voices in my head became audible.
Is this normal ? Should I be concerned ?
Other than my ADHD (** diagnosis) I do not have any psychiatric issues.
What's going on ?

Most if not all are capable of mental imagery, dreaming is extremely common. In the world of meditation it's very normal. I'm a visual thinker even when I'm not meditating, I'm bombarded with mental images in my daily life. They're especially vivid and noticeable when meditating though. I think it's because I enter a state between being awake and asleep, so I kinda dream while being awake and somewhat in conscious control.
Nothing to be concerned about. Besides if it makes it feel safer you're aware of what's going on, else you wouldn't describe it like you did here.

Being clear on your meditation goal is important. If you meditate for sounds and sights, then focus on them; if it is for inner peace and knowing your true self, then allow all sights and sounds to come and go without holding onto an interest in them.

Sounds like your third eye is activated. These are common experiences and nothing to worry about. Everytime something startles you out of meditation, it means you have made progress and it's time to reflect. Don't let it frighten you because you will never get past that experience. Once you get used to this experience, you will be able to move past it and continue your journey.

All normal. Just go back to your practice. Think of it as your mind trying harder to distract you from your practice. Cool scenery but the practice is what is important.
