Rocking from side to side while chanting mantra in meditation?

HI,
I chant a Shiva mantra 108 times on my rudraksha beads, as well as focusing on his different forms. While I chant my mantra I rock from side to side, like a cobra snake rising out of a basket to the beautiful music of the different instruments of India. What does this mean? What is happening? Why is it happening?

Hi Emeraldeyes,
This is the rising of energy from the base chakra, it is a good thing. You have put in through strong efforts on your mantra and shiva is replying by drawing up your kundalini.
Eventually the rocking will become a strong spinning , with the upper torso twisting from side to side.
In tai chi this experience is known as shaking the dragons tail, once you have got to this point, when you are well into your spiritual practice this will always happen.
