Red face A moment of slight doubt I suppose

Just curious if anyone else can relate to this, or might have an insight in any case. I have been out of body before with some degree of consciousness. And of course in what could almost be dream state but isn't a dream at all. The thing is though I have not yet ever consciously gotten out from a mind awake body asleep state. This is something I'm working toward. I wonder though once in a while, why I or anyone else should want to. It's still exciting of course and still something I aspire to. Yet reading the reports f others over the years, I have to admit it does seem at the same time kind of horrible, and even horrifying. The accounts others have of anything from falling to spinning to loud strange noises and inability to move. Of course it seems that often the first experience or two a person will snap themselves out of it in shock or fright. Yet it does seem from a couple of random sources that even this can at times be hard to do past a certain point.

I must admit I wonder if this occasional doubt, among other things, is one reason for lack of success in doing so, so far.

It is my theory that the loud pops are energy working in the Pineal gland.

Maybe an affirmation would help. Remind yourself that you and your body are safe and cozy.

The inability to move may be related to the brain function of normal paralysis in the dream state. Supposedly it is designed to prevent us from acting out our dreams and travels. Sometimes it does not work properly in some people. I do not understand why. *shrugs*

Thanks. :)

I do like to use affirmations already but I've never thought of using one for that purpose specifically.

I have some crazy things happen during a couple of my near successes before. Freaky at the time and certainly shocking, but of course I was fine. For me for far it seems to be the suddenly rapidly pounding heart, (I quickly found it was not my actual physical heartbeat,) and a feeling almost that of riding on an elevator in free fall, that have seemed the worst. To hear some of those other accounts makes me think at times 'so it actually could be even worse yet?'

No matter. Confidence must prevail I would suppose.

Most, if not 90% of the time I went through what I call the "blackout" where I am doing a technique but then I just blackout and when I come to I am "out." Have no idea but not real long ago I was able to observe the process without blacking out, I only wrote about it recently so I could share if anyone else was wondering what it's like for someone like me: http://omnignosis.wordpress.com/2012/02/26/at-the-threshold-of-the-physical-dimension-astral-or-dream/

There's always the pops and noises, lights, vibrations, etc... but rarely do I not blackout or have "missing time" where I just find myself out with no recollection of the previous moments.
