What is destiny?

Do you believe in destiny? If yes, then how to figure out what's your destiny?

Destiny is your soul's path. If you connect, you literally cannot stop your Fate unless you kill yourself. Not advised to do said suicide.

Learned that the very hard way.

I think destiny is somewhat misunderstood and that most tend to look at it backwards and I've found this out by kinda seeing that the world conforms to my wishes not because I have wishes but because I do what I can to hear what the world wants of me. It then looks as if I have a destiny whereby more, as it were, finds it's way to me but it isn't that at all... (Got to go... destiny awaits)

Honestly, I'm uncertain how I feel about the concept of "destiny" or "Fate" as I believe we have free will...

That said, if one believes the soul plans what kind of life will be lived before incarnation, then I can see how "destiny" would be a thing because it's something that was pre-planned by your own soul and not planned/controlled by external source...

I suppose this concept is one I'd feel most comfortable with...

Belief in destiny is fatalism.

Imho, there is a complementary balance of determinism and fatalism based on the cyclical nature of time.

What you do now, affects not just the future, but the past as well.

So even if you make heavy efforts in a certain direction and still find yourself going in an another direction, this is because you had chosen the latter direction in an earlier past which you don't perceive now. Thus you can see both determinism and fatalism playing itself out.

Hi raamyn, :)

I sort of believe in destiny...because I tend to believe what A
Course in Miracles explains more and more as I live...

That this is all a dream...and it has happened before...just as we
may play a movie over and over....this dream is playing over and over...Now, the difference? Ah-ha...therein lies the rub.

Same players ...same scenarios ..BUT how are we going to perceive what is happening
each time how are we going to handle the scene....can you get out of the dream ...observe it and see reality?...
awaken from the dream this time?

Now's our chance...to play the same part...but do it differently...
Will be loving this time?
Will we forgive this time?
Will we be detached and see the Creator of Universes in His own Lila, Cosmic Dance, Play?
Will we see ourselves for what we are?
Will - we- perceive- Reality?

Gene Roddenberry had an extraordinary mind and did a couple of Star Trek shows on time loops repeating...if
it helps you get a better grasp.

My 2 cents...in this lays our choice, our free will.

I think that destiny, like time; is set up in a way where certain things must play out-- That is, I think we all have the ultimate destiny of becoming ourselves, and this right now is in support of that--

That the destiny is not a destination, but a state of expression in which we are aligned with the whole; where material and spirit are not anything separate, and the mechanical understanding of the universe will be replaced with a living one-- That is destiny is at the end of time, and is also the beginning of recognizing eternity; to recognize your destiny could never be any different then understanding who you are and who you will always be-- This is quite different then things happening upon you such as fate, and such a fate is only bringing you to yourself in your own way; so fate is ultimately a freeing force; but we do not understand freedom in such a way--

I think destiny is often a choice and a thought, purely physical in orientation. I see it made up of conditioning from an outside source, instead of inner and the self. Is destiny flexible or set. In the spiritual sense I think destiny is what is available.
