Seeking others with similar beliefs

My husband and I were discussing how our friends and aquaintences really don't have similar spiritual beliefs. I have always considered myself "left of center" in thinking but am not afraid to share with others my beliefs (a soul having a human experience...ghosts etc.) My husband has at times told me that people would think I am weird if I tell them what I believe and he rarely discusses spirital ideas with others. We wonder where do people live that think like us?

hmmm....that doesnt sound weird to me at all, spirits and ghosts do exist, and Soul certainly exists, and im also pretty sure you can find plenty of folks here that agree!

I am sure you are right but I guess what I am wondering is how do you meet people face to face especially when you live in a small town. I used to go to a Spritualist church gathering a couple of towns over but I became very ill and for two years was unable to go. It has since disbanded. When the people you meet and become friends with come from the gym, your work and neighborhood how do you find those like minded people? Does that make sense?

sure it does...i always ask Spirit, and then surrender to IT'S will....IT always makes the most amazing things happen, maybe you should try that??

What believes do you have? I believe in God but don't tell anyone about that, not even my wife. People don't want to know about Higher Consciousness out of their small, dim and boring little worlds.

First of all, Hello Benn Gunn! And to Out of here: How sad is that? I guess that is my point. We should be able to share our feelings about Higher Consiousness with others. Talking to others, reading, meditating... these things help us to grow but when there is no one to talk to it is hard. As for my beliefs well I believe in Higher Consiousness. I don't really use the word God because of (to my mind) negative connotations(sp?)
with religion and hatred (war in the name of God). I agree with Knighttofalbion that you should be good for "Goodness" sake not the sake of religion. My husband and I can talk about things but he also feels bad that he has no friends he can share this with. They may go to church but do not believe in intuition, spirit connection etc.
