The Pennines Way.
BBC2 7.30pm all this week. Polar Explorer, Paul Rose, explores the 268-mile Way. My Land, worth a look at England's last wilderness .

Yes should be good that...it is times like this I wish I had a TV!
Have done from Edale to Malham many times, will do it all one day.
I live a two days walk from Blackstone Edge (which is about two days walk from Edale) but I usually do a circular walk along the canal from my town then up to Blackstone and on to Malham then footpaths and roads the way back (or catch the bus back if I cant be bothered) Very exhilerating hill walking.
Considering your username I can imagine that you have walked the Viking way and The Saxon Shore Way (Not sure if any Norse trail or not).....I cannot remember much about them..cept their flatness!

Oh wow! I have walked sections of the Pennine Way myself many many times. My introduction to that trail was with my Dad when I was a little kid.
Never walked the whole stretch though from one end to the other. I probably should have done.

I think if I do it all in the summer months it would be preferable to start at Kirk Yetholm and walk back to Edale as the sun is in your face, I feel more comfortable walking like that than with it at my back, And seeing as I live within an hour or so bus ride from Edale it would be a good insentive to aim for I think.

It's nice isn't it. A bit of human interest. Almost makes you feel like you're there with them.
