Lapis Lazuli

I am not new to crystals, per se, though I am somewhat ignorant on how to use them properly. I have owned several gemstones and crystals for years, but not sure I am benefiting from them the way they are meant to be used.

Particularly, I love my beautiful lapis lazuli. Can anyone tell me your experiences with it and how best to use it.

Hey, the lapis is great for the 3rd eye and throat chakras. If you place an amethyst on your crown, the lapis on your throat and my fav at the moment...a herkimer diamond on your 3rd eye. Lay down and relax, you will soon feel all sorts of weird and wonderful feelings.

I use Lapis Lazuli for my tarot card readings since it is linked to the third eye and can open up psychic abilities (: I rub it on my third eye before reading as well as my throat as xRivelinox said it works for your throat chakra as well and can help you to communicate fluently. This is one of my favorite crystals for the third eye.

This is why I purchased it. I would like to open my third eye. But that also scares me so I think my fear is preventing some things from developing. I am told, and I feel, that I have gifts (passed down from my grandmother). I have seen and felt spirits and heard my guides in the past. Known things without knowing how I know them. I'd like to experiment a bit though. I don\t have a herkimer diamond....I will look into that.

I use Lapis Lazuli primarily for its healing properties on the throat chakra. I have an over active thyroid and persistent chronic cough. I have always been insterested in crystals for as long as I can remember and have a vast collection. So after researching specifically for these problems I stated wearing a Lapis Lazuli pendant. I still have the cough but my thyroid problems seem to be ok now with no medication!

I have a lapis lazuli bracelet that I wear often. I bought it to open my 3rd eye. Sometimes I just put it directly on my 3rd eye and say some affirmations. I can actually feel this chakra being stimulated and it starts to vibrate for a long time after and sometimes just on it's own.

Sorry I am not providing a usage for lapis lazuli, but I do have a story about it.
Last year I was on night shift, doing road traffic control. I was on a very quite country road, so I had some time to look around with a torch. The road gutter had running water. I shone my torch into it and saw several decent sized stones with rich blue coloring. I couldn't believe my eyes, 'lapis lazuli' I said aloud. There I was fossicking for more. I took home about 2 kg of the stuff. After washing them in the sink, I was admiring how beautiful the blue looked. So I got my magnifying glasses out to have a closer look, and found that in parts it was flaking. I took to it with a pair of tweezers and discovered that the flakes were soft. "Wait a minute" I thought. It was then I just realized I dragged home 2 kg of dirty rocks that had blue paint spilled over it.
Yes, I did have a good laugh at myself. Though it was not the great find I hoped it was, I did have a great adventure with it. I still have a small piece at home as a memoir.
